My Job

Today I had an interesting experience.  Actually, everyday as a trainer is interesting.  I think its great to do something that you truly love for a living.  It never feels like work.  I get to help people transform their lives.  I get to help people make breakthrough moments in their lives. Cracking the surface of problems so they can forever live healthier happier lives.  I get to build them up and see what they are really worth.  Not even for a minute do I hate the 330 am alarm clock or staying up later than I normally would making workout routines.  It is so rewarding.  So I guess what I am saying is that you should do what you love and get paid for it.  Find your passion and follow it! That is what I did and never for a moment do I hate working 2 jobs 70 hours a week.  You can do anything :)

My new year new me attitude...

So i have made a decision for what i am going to change for the new year.  My plan is two fold.  First, I am going to really work on simplifying my very busy life.  I am going to sit down and find ways to add time to my day while eliminating meaningless tasks.  Second, I am really going to work on targeting my focus group.  I really want to help people.  But more than that, I am going to focus on helping people with health problems that really could be controlled with diet and exercise.  Especially diabetes. Now that doesn't mean I don't want to work with anyone else.  It just means that I will really target that group so that people living with a terrible disease like diabetes will know there is help out there.  What are you going to change? I really want to know.

New Year New You

I have never been one to wait until tomorrow because you can do it today.  If you are one of those people who are then I have one for you.  I challenge you to make a change for your own well being this new year.  If you want to stop drinking soda or quit smoking or drink less alcohol.  You could even promise yourself more me time.  Whatever the change, commit to the challenge.  Keep me posted and tell me what you are going to change for the better.  Throughout the year I will ask for updates on the blog to see how you are doing.  It could be a lot of fun.  For now think about a change for the better and go for it.  Let me know what you are up to.

Did you know...

Modern medicine is an amazing thing.  It really is, I have seen it most everyday.  Most common health problems could be resolved simply and relatively inexpensively simply with diet and exercise.  Think about it.  Now I am not saying that you will never need to take a pill again or that some procedures wouldn't have to occur.  But diet and exercise is the best preventive medicine you could ever use!! Eating the right power foods and conditioning your heart even losing a few pounds has amazing effects on your body.  Think of it as your body thanking you :) Smile and have a great day!

holiday stress!!!

As if the holidays aren't stressful enough, try making healthy decisions during them.  Here are a few helpful healthy tips.  Decompress, get your workout in.  Working out relieves stress and will certainly alleviate some of the guilt you may experience by indulging a bit.  Eat at home before the party, so you aren't really hungry when you get there. Watch the alcohol.  Alcohol is nothing but empty calories that spike your blood sugar and make it crash leaving you wide open to making terrible decisions.  Don't take fattening leftovers home and if you are cooking be a great host and send some home with your guests.  Share the wealth.  If you need a sweet treat.  Go ahead but that doesn't mean eat the plate full of cookies that are left for Santa.  A cookie or two are enough to satisfy that craving.  If you are anything like me remove it from your house.  Most of all enjoy this time of year with your family and make beautiful memories.  I know I will! Dont ever give up on yourself...

Everyday is a gift.  No really it is. Sometimes its hard to get through the day, hell its hard to get up in the morning.  I am constantly reminding myself that all this hard work and all this sacrifice will pay off in the end.  I know this and its not just something your parents always say to you when you are having a hard time in algebra.  Its true.  So no matter what you are facing, whether its weight to lose, a marathon you are training for or being overloaded at work, you will survive and if you want to end up on top that's entirely up to you.  You deserve the best so accept nothing but that.  I remember coming home from school with my report card and getting straight A's and my mother saying to me, "you only got an A?" Boy did that piss me off.  But i get it now, 20 years later.  Don't ever sell yourself short, you are capable of more than you even know.
