Accountability

Accountability, it is something that we all need.  Someone or something to answer to.  Something that keeps us in check.  Something that makes us responsible for our actions.  I always push my clients to log their food.  The reason for this is that weight loss is 50% what we eat and 50% how much activity we do.  Unfortunately, the fuel we put in our body can make or break our successes most of the time.  So right it down.  Keep yourself in check.

Blog oh Blog

You might be wondering where I have been.  Well things have been busy and I have been working my arse off.  Busy is good, busy pays the bills right?! I have had a lot of awesome things happening.  My goal total world domination.  Kidding but really I am so looking forward to being able to make life easier for everyone I come in contact with.  Improving their health and mental wellness.
While texting with a client this morning, she paid me the highest compliment.  I know it will sound silly but she said that "I am so cool and down to earth".  That makes me laugh because I am just like everyone else.  I have my own pile that I have to pick up everyday and my own struggles.  I am no better than anyone.  I have just been given an awesome opportunity to try my damndest to help others.  There is no way that I would ever be able to have an arrogant bone in my body, my family would kill me haha. My momma would chase me down with a wooden spoon and set my ass straight.
I have had a few clients reach milestones and realize that the sky is the limit and that is what I thrive on.
I do have a few tricks up my sleeve coming up soon.  I am going to try and put together a collaboration or two with some people.  I believe in order to achieve your own personal greatness the key is to know that you are never finished.  A healthy lifestyle has to be fun, functional and forever evolving.

What I Am Trying to Accomplish

Everyone seems to have their motive.  What I am trying to accomplish is changing the mindset of the world or at least as much of it that I can reach.  Being healthy isn't just physical.  It is mental too.  It has been proven that once you start getting stronger, losing weight and feeling better about yourself that your entire mindset changes.  You feel better about you and in turn you are more motivated and are more confident.   You become more willing to take on new challenges and goals that at one time might have "scared" you.  I can prove this with my own clients that this is true.  I am not a trainer that works with the meat head mentality we don't pick things up and put them down. My goal is to create and bring out the true "you" the person that is carrying the extra weight and the chronic ailments that sometimes seem all consuming.  So when I overload your facebook with deals and steals and tell you to pick a number, I am not being greedy I am trying to make this world a better place for you to enjoy all that is in front of you!

TO walk or NOT to walk

I am not going to lie...I am a bit disappointed in the lack of registration forms that I have received for the Warrior Walk.  I have had a lot more interest than is in my inbox right now.  For all of the sacrifices these men and women have made for us the least we can do is give a little of our time and money for them.  People say $50 is too much...well it is easier than begging for donations.  SO eat dinner at home one night and take a night off from the bar and give back to the people whom have unselfishly given so much for us!

The Day Has Come

Well it FINALLY happened.  I put the final touches on my studio today and as I type the concrete paint is drying.  I actually was there today alone for a little while and I can honestly say that I am a bit overwhelmed and overjoyed.  This all started as an itty bitty idea.  Maybe something that I just might do...Then all of a sudden it was happening.  It happened pretty quick.  I was a bit apprehensive at first but I decided that if I don't try how will I ever know.  Its amazing...now I guess I need to get to work right!  I want to thank the team of people that helped make this happen and the masses for loving me through this ride! xoxo

well there is good news and so so news...so the painting is coming along.  unfortunately it is A LOT OF PAINTING.  so so news is that hopefully i will be operating out of my new studio by monday feb 27. don't worry new clients i will still start you next week just out of my old studio.  the super awesome news is its going to be amazing.  my paint guys are doing an incredible job and it looks super great so far...so the sales are still on till i open the doors so take advantage of them.

Fitting it All In

Just like putting the kids on the bus and going to the grocery store, there is a way to fit exercise into your daily routine.  So you don't have a huge chunk of time to set aside all at once to exercise, split it up.  Even if you do not have a membership to a gym or a personal trainer such as myself, you can be successful at attaining your goals.  When splitting up a routine give yourself at least a thirty minute period of time to complete each session.  There is a benefit to this, you are boosting your metabolic rate twice a day so you may feel more energized throughout the day.  Of course we are all guilty of "wasting" hours of our lives on facebook, staring at the television or basically doing nothing.  Exercise, like everything else you need to do in a day needs to have its own special time.  Think of working out like an hour you are giving to yourself to feel more energized and invigorated.  When you boost these endorphins you will have everything you need to be a better whatever you are to yourself and everyone around you :) Happy Friday folks!

Studio Update

This is just an update for all of those that are interested.  With a lot of hard work and careful planning and the most AMAZING team in the world, I am hoping to be in my new studio by the last full week of February.  When I say careful planning, I mean careful planning!  It should be super cool! I have so many ideas for what I can and will do with the space and with my clients when they finally get the work out areas they deserve.  Like I have said before, I wouldn't be me if it wasn't for you guys!!! Goals Goals Goals

How could having goals ever be an issue...well it can be.  Sometimes many of us make goals that are too far reaching and broad.  By doing this, we are almost defeating ourselves.  So how do you make goals that are realistic and not cumbersome?  My suggestion isn't t say things like: I want to run a marathon if you have never even walked a mile.  What you should say is that you would like to walk a mile in 15-20 min.  As for weight loss, I am going to take a page from my friends at Weight Watchers.  So what if you have 50 pounds to loose, by using these types of benchmarks you are sure to succeed.  So say that you want to lose 5% to 10% of your starting weight.  Once you hit that do it again. 

Ease Back Into Exercise

If it has been a while since you last worked out, don't dive back into your old workout routine day one.  That can lead to extreme soreness, muscle pulls, tendon issues, etc.  Just aim for 3 to 5 days of fitness workouts a week.  Dial down the original routine you did and give yourself extra warm up and cool down time to reduce the risk of injury.

If it Wasn't for You, I Wouldn't Be Me

Wow, if someone would have told me in December that I would be on the journey that I am right now I wouldn't have believed them.  I got the crazy idea and ran with it.  I realized that I wouldn't be able to grow anymore if I didn't have the space, means and time to do that.  So without taking the chance I honestly would never know.  I have about a week or so until I can actually get into my studio space to begin the painting, cleaning etc.  In the mean time I am working with the government, getting permits, brainstorming crazy fun ideas and shopping for my equipment that I need.  Let me tell you that I am a savvy shopper.  I warned my husband he will be seeing a lot of the UPS and Fedex people for the next few weeks.  I am aiming to be mission accomplished by the end of February.  So everyone keep your schedules cleared for a superfun Grand Opening, Open House in early March! You are all invited! Finally, I would like to say that if it wasn't for everyone I wouldn't be here.  All of your love and Support has made all of this happen.

If you follow me on facebook you may have seen this earlier.  I don't think you can see this enough.  A lot of people wonder why someone would spend their hard earned money on a personal trainer.  With all the videos, home gym equipment and workout facilities around how and why would you ever need a trainer.  The answers are many and very simple at the same time.  ACCOUNTABILITY, what a huge difference having someone to answer to makes in your journey in fitness and weight loss.  I push you past your feeling of being uncomfortable.  Change makes change people.  I am your cheerleader.  I am your voice on your shoulder.  I am your rational side, when you feel like you need to lose 50 unlosable pounds.  I am your listener.  I hear and understand what you are going through.  That is why you need me.

Best News of the NEW YEAR

I am sooooo excited! You have no idea, absolutely thrilled!!! I have just opened up more time to take care of my peoples!  In a couple weeks I am going to have training sessions available for these times.  Wed and Fri 5 am to 6 am, Wed and Fri 6am to 7 am, Wed and Fri 7 am to 8 am, Wed and Fri 8 am to 9 am, Wed and Fri 4 pm to 5 pm and finally Wed and Fri 5 pm to 6 pm.  I am also considering taking the 6 am to 7 am or the 7 am to 8 am slots and making a morning bootcamp.  Everyone loves the bootcamps and I love doing them so let me know!!

There is no such thing as tommorrow?

When it comes to your health there is no such thing as tomorrow.  When you need to lose weight, or you just have a fitness goal, don't put off for tomorrow what you can do today.  So you ate the rest of the cold pizza for breakfast, that doesn't mean today is a failure and you should sit around eating like crap because you made a bad decision.  Get back on the wagon, go to the gym and fuel your body correctly!  We only have one body and we need to spend as much time as we can on this planet treating it kindly.

Cut Calories Without Sacrificing Taste

We all know it to be true, light cooking sounds good but often lacks the flavors we crave.  When we are feeling deprived is when we "fall off the wagon."  A few simple switches can keep us on track.  Instead of spreading mayo on a sandwich use greek yogurt, it is loaded with protein.  You can even add cumin or wasabi to it to give it a kick.  Substitute applesauce for oil or butter when baking.  If you are craving fajitas, substitute portobello mushrooms for beef.
